My brain is currently under repair.I'm sure yours is too.

How can your brain not be broken in the current climate? For instance, today the Venerable Monks are on their peace walk, walking through Richmond. (This is good). The flip side of that is the current president is a pedophile and may or may not have pooped his diapers in the Oval Office. (This is bad, mostly for him, and maybe funny if it’s true, but who knows… this is bad.)

So these two things can exist in the same world at the same time, and my brain can be aware of both things, but I can tell you it doesn’t like it.

Great things about Monks walking

1. They are peacefully protesting, I mean, literally walking for peace

2. They spread peace and joy to those who gather alongside the road to witness them

3. Peace dog Aloka is a spectacular draw, although he recently had surgery and is sitting out for a bit

4. They are not distracted by punk ass christian nationalists protesting against their… PEACE WALK (wait, we are starting to verge into the other, fractured territory.. Not yet!)

5. Their color coordination is on point

Horrible things about the political climate

  1. They keep releasing more and more documented horrors, and nothing is happening

  2. I read about Stephen Miller and his mudsill theory (Thanks, Heather Cox Richardson)

  3. Pedophiles have entered the collective chat and do things like kill children and eat babies. (Of course, we are now teetering into the extreme, darker pages of the Epstein files, but they are the ones that released it, not me.)

  4. Elon Musk not being cool enough to join pedo sex parties (ok, that’s sort of funny)

  5. The Melania Movie

Why is my mind holding both of these things at the same time? I want to be all monks, but then someone posts a video of someone pooping their diapers, and suddenly, I get pulled back in. Of course, a lot of this could be AI, and honestly, who can tell anymore? I heard that AI has created its own website so that it can chat amongst itself with immunity; nothing to see here, folks.

I suppose that’s sorta what it’s been like reading the Epstein files emails- where an invasive species of predator is chatting amongst itself with immunity. Hmmmm.

What I do know is that my nervous system was not built for this. It was built for walking. For witnessing. For choosing where to place attention.

So I keep trying to return to the monks.

Not because I’m naive.
But because my brain needs repair — and peace is one of the few things that still feels real
